Cordless, automated, child-safe

Motorised blinds in Albury.

Quiet battery or hardwired motors, control from a remote, an app or your voice, plus sun and timer automation that handles the Riverina afternoon heat for you. No cords at all, so it is the safest option for nurseries and the smartest for tall windows. Free in-home measure.

How motorisation works.

Almost any blind we make can be motorised: roller blinds and roman blinds most commonly, but also curtains on a motorised track. A small motor sits inside the blind tube or on the track, and you control it from a handheld remote, a wall switch, a phone app or a smart speaker. From there you can group blinds by room, set them to close automatically when the afternoon sun hits the west-facing glass, or have them open gently at sunrise.

  • Battery motors: Rechargeable lithium, no wiring, ideal for retrofitting existing Albury homes. Charge once or twice a year. Adds ~$150-$280 per blind.
  • Hardwired motors: Run from mains via concealed cabling, best in new builds and renovations, never need charging. Adds ~$220-$350 per blind plus electrical.
  • Hub / bridge: A central bridge unlocks app and voice control and scheduling across the home. ~$150-$350 once.
  • Automation: Sun sensors and timers close blinds against the heat and open them in the morning, no input needed.

A worked example.

A Hamilton Valley open-plan living area with four large west-facing roller blinds, motorised with rechargeable battery motors and a hub for app and voice control, adds around $1,150 to $1,600 over the base blind cost. Set them to drop to a sunscreen-block position at 2pm in summer and the room stays usable through the worst of the afternoon without anyone lifting a finger.

The safest choice for children.

Because a motorised blind has no operating cord, it removes the cord hazard entirely, which makes it our first recommendation for nurseries and children's rooms and a clean way to meet the ACCC corded-blind safety standard. New to window furnishings altogether? Start with our how-to-choose guide.
