Heat and glare control for the Riverina summer.
Albury regularly tops 35 to 40 degrees through January and February, and west-facing living rooms in West Albury, Glenroy and Thurgoona cop brutal afternoon sun. We steer those rooms toward blockout or reflective sunscreen roller fabrics, honeycomb cell blinds that trap an insulating air gap, or plantation shutters. A sunscreen weave cuts the glare and UV while keeping the outlook to the river red gums and the Hume hills. The wrong choice here fades your furniture and bakes the room by 3pm.

A lot of cheap online blinds arrive in standard widths and get trimmed on site, which is why they hang crooked and let light leak down the sides. Older Central and East Albury homes in particular have out-of-square and timber sash openings where 10mm matters. We measure every opening in your home, order each blind, curtain or shutter to that exact size, and fit it square. That is the difference between a finish that looks built-in and one that looks bought in a box.
Child-cord safety and the right control.
Corded internal blinds are covered by a mandatory ACCC consumer product safety standard. Every corded blind we install ships with the required cord guides, tension devices and labelling. For young families in newer Hamilton Valley and Thurgoona estates we usually recommend cordless or motorised operation, which removes the cord hazard altogether and is becoming the default. We will always flag the safe options at the measure, not bury them in fine print.
